Detailed introduction

304 belongs to austenitic stainless steel, it is the most widely used in the 300 series materials. Usually 304 304L with very similar characteristics, the only difference is the carbon contenting.

304L has lower carbon content and better corrosion resistance. But 304 of the strength is higher than 304L, so 304 has a higher strength than 304L.304 can be widely used in various departments, various fields. 304L is mainly used in welding industrial and other fields.

In order to maintain the inherent corrosion resistance of stainless steel, steel must contain more than 18% chromium and 8% nickel. 304 stainless steel is a brand of stainless steel produced in accordance with ASTM standard in USA.

Lower carbon content minimizes the amount of carbides precipitated in the heat affected zone near the weld, and the precipitation of carbides may lead to intergranular corrosion (welding corrosion) of stainless steel in some environments
